Do you have a family member who would like to accompany you to a public conservation area in Columbia County but has mobility limitations? Would you like to learn about a new program using ultra-light recreational wheelchairs and volunteer assistants?            If so, please call contact our office at (518) 392-5252       Universally-Accessible Trail Visit the universally accessible trail at the Greenport Conservation Area off Joslen Boulevard, in Greenport.  Within a five-mile trail system is a one-mile accessible loop that encompasses three scenic overlooks, a gazebo and picnic shelter. Owned by the Open Space Institute and managed by the Columbia Land Conservancy, the property consists of 714 acres with fields, forests and magnificent views of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains .    The all-terrain wheelchairs and the Greenport accessible trail were made possible by a grant from the Hudson River Foundation.  Click here to read CCScoop's article on this program.
