Recognizing the importance of providing opportunities for children and adults to enjoy and learn about Columbia County's rural landscape, the Columbia Land Conservancy developed our Conservation and Communities Initiative in 1999. A key component of this initiative is our outdoor education and recreation program.

Programs with Schools and Youth Groups
The Columbia Land Conservancy works with schools, preschools, day cares, after school programs, and other youth groups to develop and provide age appropriate programs that encourage curiosity and investigation of the natural world.  Click here for more information about our programs with schools and youth groups.

Public Recreation Programs
As part of the Conservation and Communities Initiative, we also provide hands-on, "place-based" education and outdoor recreation programs for the public, free of charge, at public conservation areas throughout the county.  Click here for more information about our public recreation programs.

Programs for Landowners
CLC celebrates and supports the county's working landscapes and serves as a resource for local landowners.  As part of this service, CLC provides a variety of education programs for Columbia County landowners including forestry workshops, "woods walks", and land management programs for area farmers.  Click here for more information about our programs for landowners.
