Film Screening:

What I Meant to Tell You An American Poet's State of the Union 

Crandell Theatre, Chatham

CLC and Seekonk Productions, in cooperation with the Chatham Film Club, present a special screening of the documentary film What I Meant to Tell You: An American Poet’s ‘State of the Union’.

 

A film memoir of the well-known Columbia County environmentalist and poet, Peter Kane Dufault, the film will show at the Crandell Theatre in Chatham, New York.  Dufault will do a recitation of several poems prior to the screening and will answer questions afterwards with his son Ethan, the film’s director.

Explore the Estuary

Come see Stockport Flats in a whole new way.  We will explore Stockport Creek, one of the ten largest tributaries to the Hudson Estuary, and discover the vital ecological and economic roles of estuaries.  Own canoe/kayak, equipment, and PFD required.  Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Copake Lake Discovery

Copake Lake Conservation Society

Ages:  School Age Children

Discover the fascinating creatures that live in and around the waters of Copake Lake.  We’ll look for waterstriders, whirligig beetles and other aquatic insects, and learn how these creatures move, breathe and find food in the lake.  Participants will wade in the water to collect these creatures to examine and release.  To register, please contact Jenny Brinker at 518.392.5252 x 210, or by email at jenny@clctrust.org by Thursday, August 6th.


Sunset Paddle to   North Bay

Greenport Conservation Area,   Hudson

Friday, August 21st

6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Ages:  Adults

 

Journey with us to the  North Bay and see the Greenport Conservation Area (with approximately 125 acres of ecologically diverse wetlands and tidal mudflats) from the  Hudson River .  The intertidal wetlands are home to two rare plant species and we may spot a Bald Eagle as we watch the sun go down.  Meet and return at Hudson Boat Launch. Family Barn Dance

Join us for a night of fun and dancing with the Mountain Laurel band.  Light refreshments and food will be provided.  Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door.  Adult tickets are $8, children tickets are $5 and the maximum ticket price is $20 per family. Greenport Trail Run

Greenport Town Park & Greenport Conservation Area

Come for a fun run on the trails of the Greenport Conservation Area consisting of 714 acres located in the Town of Greenport.  The moderately difficult trails meander through open fields, deciduous forests and dense cedar groves to catch magnificent views of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains beyond.  Pre-registration is required, the registration fee is $20 per runner.
