Important
News In Washington, Tax Incentive Update
As
we reported in an email in early August, legislation is
currently pending that is enormously important to the
work of CLC and thousands of other local land trusts
across the country.
This
legislation will permanently extend certain very
important tax incentives for donations of conservation
easements, and will help local families, farmers, and
communities protect their land.
The
House of Representatives recently approved this
legislation with 106 cosponsors (including Congresswoman
Gillibrand) for House bill, HR 1576. Thanks to
every one who has asked their Representative for their
help.

asking you now to take a moment to contact senators
Hillary Clinton and Charles Schumer and urge them to
sign on as a co-sponsor for S.
469.
This bill includes provisions that will
permanently extend the conservation easement incentives.
