        Co-Educator Opportunities




   

Volunteers play an integral role in the Columbia Land Conservancy's efforts to protect rural open space and host hundreds of education and recreation programs each year.  Whether helping with trail maintenance or habitat improvements at one of our public conservation areas, assisting staff with public programs, serving as a co-educator or an education assistant, providing technical assistance, or helping with an office mailing, volunteers allow the Conservancy to serve as a community resource at a level that would otherwise not be possible.  Click here to view upcoming volunteer opportunities.

OUT AND ABOUT

Trail building and repaircreate or improve trails at public conservation areas
  Join a group of trail volunteers for a workday
  Work individually with public conservation area manager to improve/repair trails

Trail stewardship/monitoringadopt a trail in your community
  "Adopt" a favorite trail or trails: regularly walk conservation area trails and help keep them well marked; clear off fallen limbs and trash
  Habitat improvement work

Outdoor program assistant or co-educatorassist our staff with public programs
 Serve as a co-educator (click here for more information)

Help with education programs, set-up, general assistance.  No specific knowledge is required.

Photographing conserved lands
  Visit recently conserved lands to take photos for potential use in CLC publications, slide shows, and website (digital pictures preferred)

Town records/historic research
  Conduct research for historic information on public conservation areas and other public projects

Special events volunteer
  Assist during special events with check-in, set up, clean up, parking, decorating, meeting guests

AT HOME OR IN OUR OFFICE

Mailing team
  Assist with CLC mailings: collate, stuff, stamp, and seal membership mailings

News clippings
  Help us stay on top of local coverage of CLC projects and relevant conservation news by clipping local and regional articles and sending them to us on a monthly basis

Writing/editing/special assignments
  Help us write special outreach and publicity materials

Professional services/ consultations
  Legal services
  Educational workshops
  Appraisal services
  Donate art, photography or design services for fundraising, special events, public conservation areas, brochures, outreach materials
  Fundraising assistance
 
Help design and/or construct public conservation area structures such as boardwalks, benches, bridges, and signs
    
Business/retail shop owners
  Contribute a service or item from your retail store toward our annual silent action fundraising event in May
  Participate in a workday
  Sponsor a PCA improvement, publication or event
